Express Yourself With Costume Contact Lenses

One of the most hauntingly original special effects used in film can be seen in Pitch Black and The Chronicles of Riddick, where the main character, Richard Riddick, has silver eyes. In the movies the explanation given for the eyes was a special surgery. In real life obtaining the eyes was less complex, as all actor Vin Disel had to do was insert what are known as costume contact lenses into his eyes. Fortunately, one doesn’t have to be an actor to obtain this effect in their own eyes.

One type of costume contacts are known as ‘wild eyes.’ These lenses transform the eye to make it either look exactly like an animal eye or to decorate the iris with various prints. Examples of the former could be cat eyes, while examples of the latter could be wildfire eyes. In the case of the cat eye lens, the iris contains a colored portion and an ‘oval’ portion, typical of the pupil of a cat. The human pupil, while still visible if one looks into the eye closely, blends in with the fake oval pupil. For wildfire eyes, and designs like it, the artwork is centered around the pupil. The effect causes the pupil to actually be a part of the design, rather than just blended in, like it is with animal eye decorations.

Another type of costume contacts are those that glow in the dark. This is actually the type of contacts that were worn by Vin Disel when playing the role of Richard Riddick in his Pitch Black movies. Vin Disel’s glow in the dark contacts covered both the iris and the pupil, a glow in the dark contact which is harder to find for average individuals. Most glow in the dark costume contacts only cover the iris.

Where can one find costume contacts? There are several websites offering them. Examples include: JustLenses.com, Lensmart.com and VisionDirect.com. In order to purchase the contacts from them, one is required to enter in their prescription information. This is to ensure that the lenses shipped out are the right fit since lenses that do not fit well can cause eye problems. This can be as minor as scratching the eye to something as major as corneal infection. Severe corneal infections can result in having the eye removed. That is why even if costume contacts are only to be worn for a day, one must always make sure they get a prescription from their optometrist first before actually buying them. This includes individuals who possess normal eyesight.

Two of the most common types of costume contact lenses are wild eyes and glow in the dark contacts. Both types can make one the envy of any Halloween party, or maybe even in general, if a person wants to use costume contact lenses to make a bold fashion statement. With costume contact lenses everyone can become as mysteriously alluring as Richard Riddick.

Automotive Secret Shoppers

Every mishandled prospective customer in an automobile showroom represents a lost opportunity which translates into lost revenue. For steadily increasing revenue it is imperative to turn showroom traffic into real customers. Increased sales and profit generated thus, will improve the bottom-line.

To achieve this goal every automobile company needs a comprehensive training program that has specific sales training objectives. The training program should be tailored in a manner that specific sales performance concerns are addressed adequately. For this to happen the sales training program of an automotive company needs to be evaluated thoroughly for any possibilities of incorporating changes that will lead to optimization of resources and consequently to optimal sales.

Automotive secret shoppers provide an invaluable performance measurement tool that is sought after by many of the top automotive organizations. Successful secret shopping in the automotive marketplace demands a detailed knowledge of the industry. So, agencies either employ experienced shoppers or train new recruits for the automotive industry. As a result several customer service and customer experience programs in new and used vehicle sales, service and parts for a variety of automotive industry clients have been developed. As per the demands of a particular company appropriate programs are chosen and tailored to fit.

Automotive secret shoppers give feedback about what kind of information is revealed during a used car sales pitch. Though withholding negative information from a client is not ethically right, it needs to be couched in euphemisms and delivered in a convincing manner. It is up to the customer to decide for or against the vehicle.

A typical report by an automotive secret shopper may include personal details about a sales person like his like greeting and opening remarks, appearance and attitude, and needs analysis and probing skills. Technical evaluation may include information about product knowledge and demonstration skills, sales presentation skills, negotiation techniques and closing skills. Reports about the facility in general will include feedback on the cleanliness of the facility, showroom and parking lot.

True Connections Come With Understanding

Kids have a way with connecting with each another. In fact, watching a five-year-old enter a room with two dozen other kids his age can teach you a valuable lesson about real networking. Within minutes of walking into a crowded gym, five-year-old strangers flock together with one mission: playtime. Developing an instant, yet nameless, affinity for each other, they interact as if they have known each other for years. Without difficulty or restrictions, they are playing games, laughing, and having a genuinely good time. There is no positioning. There are no politics. There are no inhibitions, labels or assumed barriers - just pure connections. In their eyes, everyone in that gym is just a kid, like them. That simple fact is enough to make those around them their new best friends. If you were to take that same group of kids and fast forward twenty years, a different scenario would unfold. Suddenly, there would be issues, differences and barriers. Much would change in the way these same people interact with one another. The question, then, is at what point in our lives do we develop these limiting inhibitions? As adults, there is an unnecessary layer between ourselves and others.

Sometimes this layer is due to pride, insecurity, or even a false sense of deference. These causes, though varied, can instantly be dissolved the moment you choose to dissolve them. All it takes is the effort to make a true connection with those around you. One of the main reasons adults find it hard to connect with others is our difficulty with communication. We often forget that real communication comes through understanding, not just hearing and responding. If we can change the way we listen to one another, we can instantly change how effectively we connect with one another. Too often, in networking especially, we listen to others with the intent to respond. We fall into the trap where the only reason we listen at all is so we know how to respond. Soon, the voice in our head is louder than the voice of the person talking as we evaluate which response we should use and when we should use it. There are various reasons why we do this. As adults, we may have formed preconceptions of others and tend to see things only through our tunnel-vision lenses.

We may feel tempted to only really get to know and understand those who can benefit us. Other times, our lack of effort has nothing to do with who are speaking with. We may try to guide a conversation a certain way or just be eager and impatient to tell our own story. Many times, we may feel insecure and inhibited by unspoken guidelines for making the right impression and saying the right words. Real connections, however, are made not from a perfect response, but through perfect understanding. Each of us has a unique and interesting story, so there is always something new and unique to learn from everyone you meet. When you make the effort to truly understand not just what a person says, but who they are, you are able to successfully break the barriers and connect with that person. Instead of allowing yourself to stop and question every move you make and every word you say, focus on connecting with others genuinely. Combine the confidence of a five-year-old with the courtesy of an adult to introduce yourself and get to know others. Let go of insecurities, inhibitions and archaic, social hierarchies. Remember what it was like to be a five-year-old and meet people for the sake of having fun and enjoying another person's company. You'll be surprised at how the simple act of listening to understand will improve your ability to connect with others in your personal and professional life. These connections are what create a strong and healthy network of loyal and lasting friends.

Human Pheromone Reviews - Alpha-7 Scented

Confused after reading countless reviews on human pheromones, trying to determine which attractant pheromones work the best? Or which work at all? I may be able to steer you in the right direction.

Months ago I conducted my own experiment, an empirical human pheromone review, in which I tested the top ten pheromone products on the market and documented my testing results, using the empirical method, one of the most direct and to the point methods of evaluation. In short, I tried the stuff! Then I documented whether or not others responded to it.

For reasons of brevity I will not go into all the products contained in my human pheromone reviews, but I will address here my number three pheromone product pick, Alpha-7 Scented.

Let me start by saying this, Alpha-7 Scented is a very strong and powerful pheromone product, which requires extreme care in its use. This pheromone is very similar to another product called Primal Instinct, except Alpha-7 Scented actually contains 40% more pheromones than Primal Instinct. In lay persons terms, you can possibly bring yourself 40% more pleasure or 40% more pain depending upon your proper or improper usage of this pheromone product.

Alpha-7 Scented is a potent attractant pheromone that has a rather spicy smell to it, almost like a cross between cinnamon and cloves, the odor is pleasant but strong when applied. The reason why caution must be used with this pheromone product is to avoid the risk of over dose! Quite simply, if you apply to much, people may think you have not bathed in a while! Apply the correct dosage, which I found to be no more than two finger dabs, and the product can seriously deliver what it promises, which is to create the aura of an "confident and classy man," while greatly enhancing overall sexual attraction.

The day I decided to evaluate and test Alpha-7 Scented, I was scheduled to make a sales call with the operations manager of a very large business my employer wished to establish a business relationship with. This operations manager is a women in her late thirties, married, and of average looks, much like myself.

Prior to walking into her I had applied two dabs, one behind each ear, of Alpha-7 Scented. This lady is known to be a tough negotiator, with little patience nor time to meet with anyone for a sales call! Most folks only survive a few minutes in her office before she quickly ends the meeting!

After walking into her office and introducing myself, she promptly informs me how busy she is and how little time she has for me at the moment, suggesting perhaps I return sometime next month!

I did some fast talking and took a seat while I rummaged through my briefcase for some material for her, truly just trying to by some time. After about two minutes in her office I observed a subtle change come over her. This iron lady of operations management became much more calm and relaxed, followed by a distinct slowing in her speech pattern, and lowering of volume.

To my great surprise, she then smiled and pushed the work on her desk to the side, and put her phone on "busy!" I took the cue, and started going into my sales pitch. The entire time she sat behind her desk calmly, smiling, and staring into my eyes as I spoke to her.

Roughly 45 minutes into the meeting with this operations manager, one of her subordinates walked in to speak with her, a twenty something young lady who happened to be very attractive. This young lady walked in to schedule a sit down with the operations manager to discuss her performance evaluation, apparently she was not satisfied with it. However, while speaking to the big boss she kept looking intensely at me, wide eyed and smiling.

The operations manager clearly seemed to become annoyed by the intrusion, more so because this young lady simply would not leave! She kept asking the same questions over and over again, and asking for clarifications upon the answers she received from her boss, the whole time still intensely staring in my direction. It clearly became a contest of who gets to be around the sales rep! Needless to say, the big boss eventually raised her voice and won the contest.

Alone again with the operations manager. I had now been in this meeting for about an hour and a half! Discussion turned personal, all about her and then, her asking all about me! She had returned to her calm and soft spoken demeanor. At the two hour mark I finally had to actively end the meeting myself, as I politely excused myself, while assuring her I would be back to follow-up next week, she grabbed my hand as if to shake it, but did not let go! She looks in me in the eye and tells me she was "truly, very, very happy that you stopped by today!" I then quickly departed from her office.

Folks, this is not how sales calls with tough negotiators usually go, period! The observations derived from my human pheromone review of Alpha-7 Scented, during this encounter were fairly clear. The only factor that varied was the length of time before each of the two women involved seemed to respond to the pheromone product.

In closing, as I've said before, I'll say it again, while conducting my various human pheromone reviews, I really don't know how these products do the voodoo they do, but I do know what I am able to observe and document.

If you are looking for a hidden advantage in the game of sexual attraction, learn more about the power of attractant pheromones by reading my complete Empirical Pheromone Review, in which I also share which pheromone products worked, and which clearly did nothing!

Kyle MacRannell is a die hard product review fanatic! I love the excuse to use and play with the products I review, usually for free, just so I can give other folks the real dirt on how stuff works, or more likely than not, how stuff doesn't work! No hype, just the facts, as I see them but of course.

Unique Fun Contact Lenses - How To Stand Out In A Crowd

Unique fun contact lenses are what will make you stand out from your friends. Since special effects contact lenses are created for cosmetic purposes, they come with a power of 0.00, which means that they make no correction for your eyes. This in turn means that anyone can wear them. So, if you need something for a party, the night club, or just to scare your kid's friends, then there is something available for you.

Probably the most common contacts to be classed as unique fun contact lenses are those that just change the color of your eyes. Having striking blue eyes when they used to be brown can have a pretty dramatic effect, especially on those that know you. And vica versa, having say green eyes and suddenly turning up in cool smoldering browns will certainly get people talking! And even if you don't know the people you are with, say at a nightclub, who can resist baby blues?

But maybe, you are a little more reckless, a little more adventurous than that? Well, how about cats eye contact lenses? Imagine talking to someone you had not met before in a bar, and they raised their eyelids to reveal a feline gaze? Wow! Maybe not everyone's cup of tea, but you can see the impact that you could have.

Or maybe it's Halloween, and you want to give those pesky trick or treaters something to remember you by? How about some Vampire eyes? Would that do it? My guess is that you would cut down on the number of treats that you give out.

Or you could try out zombie eyes. They are quite similar to Vampire eyes in that they are red, but with some subtle additional colors to give a slightly different effect. Either way, the effect can be pretty scary, so remember to stick a health warning on your porch before showing your eyes to anybody of a nervous disposition.

You can even be a little creative too, and be truly unique. Some manufacturers will allow you to choose your own colors, so the world is your oyster. No correction is used in the manufacture of the lenses, so that the core element of the lens will fit anyone. You should expect to pay more for this type of lens though, because they are not mass produced.

You can even get blank out eyes, which means that the lens is one solid colour, with a little peep hole in the middle for you to see out of. Pitch black mirrored contact lenses are probably the ultimate in cool, but there are others too. These too can be fun, but they have use in dramatics as well. A white blank out lens can give a very effective impression of blindness, so if you are into acting, fun contact lenses can be a great prop.

Glowing Contact Lenses

In the last few decades, contact lenses have come a long way in terms of comfort, vision, and even style. For a long time contacts, were only for vision correction, but in the last few years they have really become more of a fashion statement. Many people use colored contacts to change their eye color but there are really a lot a different styles of contacts out there.

Most people already know about colored contacts, but have you ever heard of glow in the dark contacts? These are contacts that glow under a uv light. They are really awesome at night and look great when you go to parties or clubs. Many even wear glowing contacts with their costumes to shock people. Color contacts as well as glow in the dark contacts have often been used in movies even if you didn't notice them. Glowing eyes just really have a tendency to freak people out.

Here are some questions you may be wondering:

-How much do glow in the dark contact lenses cost?
obviously the different brands will vary in price and quality, but you do not want to buy the cheapest contacts on the market. These are going to be sitting inside your eyes! So be on the safe side and go with a brand that is well known. Most people don't know that poor quality contacts can lead to abrasions on your corneas or even lead to blindness in severe cases. So be careful when making your selection. Honestly you should be paying about $25-$35 for a pair of quality contacts. And I wouldn't recommend buying them from a novelty shop. It may seem great because the shop is near your house and you won't have to wait for shipping, but you can save some serious money by shopping for contacts online. There are many more companies online selling contacts than in your local area, so you are bound to find a better deal among all the competition.

-Do glowing contacts actually glow "in the dark"?
As I mentioned before, these special contacts glow under a uv light. That means that in pitch darkness they will not glow, but they will glow in clubs o parties where there is a limited amount of light. So if you have purchased some and they don't glow in your closet, have no fear. They aren't broken, they only glow under uv light.

-How do I care for glowing contacts?
Glowing contacts should be treated just like regular contacts. They must be cleaned regularly between uses, and left in a moisturizing solution. Again, do not buy a cheap solution unless you want your eyes to burn. If you do not clean them regularly contacts can get calcium build up and the lenses and cause irritation as well as health problems such as cataracts.

Role of Light and Illumination in Photography

Light and illumination are the basics of photography. The very word "photography" comes from two Greek words, phos meaning light, and graphis meaning drawing. Hence, photography can be described as "drawing with light". As we start the lesson, I want to wish you a pleasant and illuminating session!

If you ask me to name the most important thing in photography, I would say light. Without light, there is no illumination. In a room without illumination, everything is pitch black. You can't see a thing. Taking a shot - assuming your camera allows you to - produces a solid black photograph. You switch on a lamp, and you send light across the room, and everything is illuminated. Now you can take a photograph and show something in the picture. You realize that your eye and the camera both need light and illumination to work.

Photography is about capturing light and recording it, whether on paper, or more frequently now, in a digital format. As a photographer, you control the amount, intensity and duration of light required to create the picture. The apparatus used to draw with light is called the camera, which comes from camera obscura, a box with a hole for light to pass through and strike the backwall of it. The name "camera obscura" actually means dark chamber, and indeed, the word "camera" is still used in some languages such as Italian to mean "room" or "chamber".

There is a saying that the camera never lies. Actually, the camera is rarely capable of telling the whole truth. Without even going to what the camera shows, it often cannot even get the brightness right. Have you ever taken a photograph, and the shot seems brighter or darker than what you remember the scene to be? With a digital camera, you can even see then and there how distant the difference between what you see in front of you and what the camera recorded. Why is that so?

The camera and our eyes work in pretty much the same way. The difference between the two is that our eyes are better able to handle wide differences in light intensity. For example, if you take a photograph from inside a room with an open window, you may get the room properly exposed but the window is too bright, or the window looks right but the room too dark. Yet our eyes don't have such a problem: they can see everything inside the room and outside the window properly exposed. The reason is, our eyes can compensate for the wide difference in light whereas the camera cannot.

Secondly, our eye is more sensitive to light than most of the amateur/prosumer cameras. In a dark environment, such as inside a movie theatre, our eyes can still adjust to the lack of light and allow us to see the rows of chairs and people. Most cameras would have difficulty focusing under such a demanding
condition.

So are we saying that the eye shows reality but the camera doesn't? Neither is capable of showing us reality all the time. What our eye and the camera do is that they provide their interpretation of reality. What we see with our eye and what we see with the camera are what they are capable of showing us. As an example:

Switch on a fan. You see the blades start to turn. Soon the blades become a blur. Now aim a camera at the fan, set it to the highest shutter speed and take a shot of the fan. The picture comes out showing the blades seemingly motionless. Why is it that our eyes show the blades blur while the camera shows them still?

On the other hand, have you seen photographs taken in crowded public places such as railway stations or airports, where the people seem to be blur? Your eyes never show you people as a motion blur, and yet that's how they look like in the photo. How is that possible?

Our eyes are capable of showing a moving object as sharp, up to a certain speed. Beyond that, it becomes a blur. The camera, on the other hand, will record the object as sharp or blur, depending on the shutter speed that we set. Our eyes and the camera both provide an interpretation of reality, but they interpret reality in their own way. Moreover, our eyes see things in continuous motion while the camera captures a moment.

Have you seen a photo where people appear as motion blur? Have you seen a photo where the subject is sharp but the background of off-focus? Or a photo of a stream where the water become a milky blur? Or an ocean where the rolling waves are frozen? These are all possible with a camera, even though reality
doesn't look like that at all. And yet, often such pictures are regarding as being very well taken.

That takes us back to the art of photography. It is after all, an art form. Art doesn't have to look like reality. Art can be very unreal as still look pleasing. As a photographer, your goal is to create photographs that are pleasing to the eye. The next time someone tells you, "Oh, your photo looks so real!" thank them, but be mindful that none of your photograph - not a single one - is 100% the real thing, but only an interpretation on it.

What we've learned in this article:

- Our eye and the camera need light and illumination to work.

- Our eye and the camera do not record reality, but provide an interpretation of reality.

- Our eye and the camera interpret reality differently.

- Our goal as photographer is to create images that are pleasing to the eye.

Bedlocker Retractable Tonneau Cover by Pace Edwards Review

The BedLocker Retractable tonneau cover by Pace Edwards offers the capability to open and close the tonneau cover with the aid of a remote control. Yeah that's right. An electric motorized retractable tonneau cover. Just think of it, you are doing your Christmas shopping and coming out of the store with your arms loaded with bags, just hit the button on the remote control and voila... the tonneau cover on your truck opens up.

Is it worth the money?

I'm sure that some out there would say, what a waste of money, and there are others who would say what a great and practical idea. For those of you who like lot's of extra toys on your truck, this is a must. There are many who just love the capability that this feature provides. If you have some extra cash lying around and you want a retractable tonneau cover, this is the one for you. This all may seem like a sales pitch but I can't help it, I love the thought of opening a tonneau cover with a remote control.

Is it just a fair weather tonneau cover? The cover itself is manufactured not to freeze or collapse from snow. The frame and panels are made of aluminum and has a black powder coat finish. It is built to have exceptional strength, security and style. To prevent water from entering through the cover, Pace Edwards uses patented rubber hinge-seals. Pace Edwards make the Bedlocker tonneau custom designed to fit the truck it was intended for. This truck bed cover also comes with a remote cargo light to make it easy for you to see what you are doing. They say you can install it within an hour. I think it can take anywhere from a half hour to a couple hours depending on how mechanically inclined you are. The BedLocker lid comes with a one year warranty.

The bedlocker retractable tonneau cover fully opens in less than 30 seconds. You do have the option to stop it anywhere you need it to. You do not have to do any drilling to install it, the tonneau cover installs with clamps.

Some customers who have purchased the bedlocker tonneau cover said the materials were of very high quality, and they love the smiles they get when they press the remote and the tonneau opens up. Others said it was very secure with no rattles. Some had difficulty with the instruction that came with the cover but once they figured it out, they were fine.

I guess to some, the Bedlocker with its remote function is a complete waste of money, but they probably said the same thing about power windows and a power trunk. Some like the extra toy, they are quite pleased and proud of. To others the electrical retractable tonneau cover with the remote control by Pace Edwards is a necessity that they would find it hard to do without.

Floatation Therapy - All Stresses Simply Seep Away

Floatation therapy is a quick and simple way to achieve intense relaxation. Stress is constantly being recognized as the cause of illness and physical problems and floatation therapy is an ideal way to unwind and release pent up tension.

A physician and neuro-psychiatrist named Dr. John C. Lilly originally gave birth to the idea of the floatation tank. His studies veered him in the direction of sensory deprivation and the impact it had on reducing brain activity. While Doctor Lilly was undergoing psychoanalysis training, he continued to find out as much as he could about isolating people from any external stimuli. His first tank was created early in the 1950's.

Floatation therapy provides people with an almost instant feeling of well-being: As the brain activity lowers, any problems or stresses seem trivial and simple to overcome. Whether a person has been experiencing physical pain or aches or they have a stress related problem like insomnia, Dr. Lilly's invention will prove to be invaluable. When the body and mind enters into such a relaxed state, more areas of the brain can work harmoniously together to provide healing and clarity of thought.

Most forms of such deep relaxation take a lot of time and practicing before any deeper levels can be reached. With floatation therapy, no learning or practicing is required and no energy is necessary. It is as simple as climbing into the tank and floating for a while. Even if it's the end of a hectic, tiring week, mustering the energy to climb on in will be well worth it.

How do Floatation Tanks Work?

Of course the initial development of the floatation tank was nowhere near as comfortable as the modern day designs. They now have light, easy to open and close lids or doors, circulation fans, internal lighting and a very classy and new age look.

They have been created as a peaceful, comforting tank or room that contains approximately ten inches of water and a heap of Epsom salt. When water contains pounds of salt, it becomes much denser than the body and provides the floater with a feeling of weightlessness, making it easy to float.

Should the tanks only contain fresh water or water with chlorine in it, a person would have to constantly keep moving to keep floating. It wouldn't be a very relaxing experience if worrying about sinking was the main agenda.

Using professional floatation therapy methods allows the body to become completely relaxed while floating on the surface without effort.

The water is always set to body temperature which means it quickly feels like the body and the water become one. It is a private, dark, temperate and moist environment that most people find to be very pleasant. For those concerned about feeling claustrophobic, the lid can be left ajar or completely open, but floatation therapy is more effective if it's closed and completely dark.

Some people choose to wear bathers and others like to be naked for their floatation therapy. There is a shower to use before climbing in and whichever way makes an individual feel more comfortable will be best for them.

Another good idea is to wear ear plugs because usually the ears are in the water the entire time.

Lying on the back is not the only option and many people like to try different positions whilst floating. It feels almost like laying on a bed and there is freedom to move and float in different ways.

An hour of floatation therapy is equal to four hours of deep sleep. Usually there will be a light to indicate that an hour has passed, or the tank water may vibrate as the filters start to self-clean. It isn't recommended to spend more than an hour inside and this is seen as the ideal length of time.

The Epsom salt makes skin soft, smooth and silky to touch. The prune look normally seen after bathing is caused by water leeching salt from the skin and because the tank water is so salty already, this doesn't happen. Many people go straight from a floatation session onto their next appointments.

Important Features of Floatation Tanks

Today's floatation tanks have been designed with safety in mind, which is why it is impossible to ever be trapped inside. It is completely okay to climb in and out any time so users feel in control.

Modern tanks aren't air tight and also have their own fans circulating the air and keeping it fresh. In the rare event that something did go wrong with the fan, there would never be a shortage of air.

Advanced filtration mechanisms keep the tank and water clean. This means there are no concerns about picking up an infection or catching a disease.

Currently floatation tanks and floatrooms cost anywhere from $7400 to $24000. This is the price of the units only and doesn't include any delivery charges or extra accessories.

Not many people can afford to install there own tank at home. It's much more affordable to visit a local salon that offers floatation therapy and many will provide package deals offering discounts for more than one visit.

The First Floatation Therapy

There are some important points to consider before the first float, whether planning to use a tank in the home or visit a salon that offers the service:

* Because of the high salt concentration of the water, metal items can be damaged during a float. For this reason even wedding rings should be removed.

* To avoid damaging contact lenses if water goes into the eye, they are also best being removed.

* It's an excellent idea to spray some liquid skin or liquid bandage onto any cuts or abrasions. This is because the salt water will sting rather intensely for some minutes if there is any broken skin, so even shaving nicks should be considered.

* It is a courtesy to take a shower and wash your hair. Conditioner shouldn't be applied and the entire body should be washed and rinsed before floating. This prevents unnecessary pollution of the water in the tank.

* For those who have a specific issue on their mind, it's suggested that focusing on it while preparing for a session is beneficial. As soon as the body hits the water, asking for universal guidance towards finding a resolution is usually very effective.

Precautions to remember when in the tank are:

* It is pitch black when the lid of the tank is closed and it's not uncommon for someone to initially panic when the doors appear to be stuck. This is impossible and it's simply a matter of them being disoriented because it's so dark. If this happens, simply feeling around for the lids location will solve the problem and keeping any panic at bay.

* On initially entering the tank, it is best to take a minute to orient the mind to where the lid is in respect to floating.

* Another thing to find when first entering the tank is the light switch. Nearly all tanks have interior lights and knowing how to find it can also help prevent a panic attack.

Anyone attempting floatation therapy for the first time needs to remind themselves that they are safe and calm. The doors are designed so they can not be locked or stuck and there is always plenty of air. Any problems will only be related to locating the doors and that is not so hard to do as long as calmness is maintained. It is sometimes a good idea to find the light switch first and then find the door. If panic does start to set in the best solution is to lie back in the water, breathe, relax and then look again for the lid.

* If salt water does make its way into the eyes it can sting very badly. This is because the salt concentration is so high, so it's important to remember these points:

- As soon as the hands become wet they must be kept off the face and eyes.

- Any time the hands are raised over the head for a change of position, they should go outside the head, not over the face. This avoids water dripping into the eyes.

- The hair needs to be carefully pushed away from the face anytime the floating position is changed and especially when sitting up.

- In case water does get in the eyes, there should always be a towel near the door of the tank for immediate use.

It only takes a single floatation therapy session to fall in love with the feeling. It provides a natural pathway to health and wellbeing and is a wonderful feeling everyone should experience.

The Special Effect of a Pitch Black Contact Lens

The dead look of a totally pitch black contact lens is frankly quite unnerving to say the least. Many movies especially those that deal with vampires and the living dead themes have gone a long way in popularizing these contacts lenses. Just imagine the terror you can inflict on unsuspecting friends and acquaintances when you step out of the shadows.

The best pitch black contact lens available will cover the entire eye surface so that none of the white of the eye will show. Wearing them is much akin to wearing very dark sunglasses. As a result moving around in dark surrounding can be difficult if not downright hazardous to the wearer. Even in some fairly well lit rooms you have to be careful not to step on or into things lying on the floor.

We purchased our pitch black contact lenses on line from a discounted contact lenses supplier located in California. Since they were made outside the US we were somewhat hesitant to use them. We thoroughly cleaned each lens several times to make sure that we had removed any possible contamination from them. After all you only get two eyes and no use taking any chances.

We found that the full cover pitch black contact lens did not fit our first test subject most likely due to the shape of her eye. However the lens did fit my eyes just fine. If you do not regularly wear contacts and are uncomfortable wearing them then you will not like these contacts. These contacts are about 1/3 larger than a regular contact lens which can also make the lens uncomfortable.

These special effect contacts are designed for theatrical or special effect contacts use only. As such they should not be worn over night or for extended periods. The quality of our soft pitch black contact lens was pretty good for a plane type contact. We would recommend that if you need corrective lenses then you should contact your eye professional for assistance in ordering your special effects contact lenses.

There is no doubt that these contact lenses will be popular at Halloween. They also may be popular with many movie groupies who want to look like their favorite characters. While wearing the contacts I was amazed by the effect they had on ordinary unsuspecting people. In one case my eyes caused the clerk of a convenience store to drop her drink on the floor. In many cases you can see individuals catch their breath upon seeing the contacts.

We spent slightly more than $88 for our non prescription or plane pitch black contact lens. As we have stated we felt that were of good quality. You would expect to pay more for a set of prescription special effects contact lenses. The best deals appear to be on the internet using discounted contact lenses suppliers. They are not cheap but if you are interested in making an impact on people then these lenses are really hard to beat.

Great Product Presentation During Catalog Photo Shoot

We all know that in using catalogs for marketing, the images hold the greatest appeal to the target market. Therefore, when you are printing catalog, those products' photographs must always look great for the catalog to succeed.

This means that you must pay a great deal of attention in your catalog product photo shoot. The photo shoot is where you get your product images, and this must be perfect for the catalog to come out perfect as well.

To have the best catalog photo shoot, you need a few crucial "ingredients" so that the qualities of the photographs appear great. In this article, we will share with you the seven important things for better looking products in your catalog photo shoot.

1. A wide spacious location - The first major ingredient, is a wide spacious location. Do not try to do your photo shoots in small and cramped places even though you only sell small products. A wide location lets you adjust the environment of the products well to get that perfect photograph. This of course also provides ample space for your lighting and photographic equipment as well as other props and design accents that you may want.

2. The best digital camera you can get your hands on - Of course, you should also get the best digital camera that you can borrow or acquire. Digital cameras are the best tools to use today since most of them store images digitally instead of perishable film. This also means that you can take a lot of pictures of your products so that you have a lot of options in choosing your images. So make sure you get a great digital camera with the best and largest resolutions possible.

3. Proper lenses - If you do have some extra funds, it should be also good to have the proper professional lenses that you can use in your camera. The best is the 80mm type lens, which is virtually the nearest lens that can capture images like the human eye itself. So try to target the best lenses to use to get the best pictures for your products.

4. Lots of lighting - Lighting is also a very important part in a catalog photo shoot. Images will always look great with a lot of properly positioned lighting. So if it is at all possible try to rent or borrow lighting stands and lamps so that your products can be lit in the proper way that enhances their features.

5. A steady and secure tripod - You should also have a tripod handy for your camera. Tripods are perfect if you want to position several products in just the right way to get the effects that you want. It can also help you with complex photo shoots where a steady camera "hand" is needed.

6. Ladders and chairs - Also, you may want to have a few ladders and chairs with you for the photo shoot. This enables your photographer to experiment with different angles of the product, giving you more options for the photographs.

7. Uniformly colored mount and background - Finally always try to have the background and the mount table for the products to have a uniform color. Black, or white are usually the best. By doing this, your digital artists will have an easier time "lifting" your product images and setting them correctly into the catalog designs.

Great! Those things should prepare you well for a good session of product photography. Once you get the great shots and images that you need, half the work for catalog printing is done. So good luck with the photo shoot.

Nokia E90 Communicator For Business Person

Nokia introduced latest design cell phone Nokia E90 Communicator. This phone is sizeable compared to much of its competition, measuring 132mm by 57mm by 20mm. It feels very chunky in the hand, but perhaps more significantly it weighs 210g twice as much as many mobile phones. Above the number pad is a bank of shortcut buttons Call, End, two soft menu keys, Clear and the Nokia menu button. The navigation pad comprises a raised frame around a large central select button. This frame, and a larger frame around the fascia, is silver; the remainder of the Nokia E90 Communicator's livery is brown. The external display has a standard 240-by-320-pixel resolution and measures 2in. from corner to corner. Although this screen is clear and sharp, it appears quite small because of the Nokia E90's bulk. The reason for the Nokia E90 Communicator's bulk, is course, its clamshell format, which opens up to reveal a wide-screen display and a QWERTY keyboard.

The clamshell has a locking position when opened at 90 degrees, at which point the hinging mechanism switches slightly to allow both parts of the clamshell to move. It's a neat design that helps keep the overall size of the Nokia E90 Communicator down. The hinge is stiff enough that the screen will hold at any position between 90 and 180 degrees, enabling you to get a good viewing angle for the screen. The Nokia E90 Communicator is a quad-band GSM device with 3G and HSDPA support for data transfer speeds up to 3.6Mbps.

This opens up the possibility of video calling, and there's a small VGA-resolution camera next to the internal screen for this purpose (the main camera, whose lens is on the back of the device, is a 3.2 megapixel unit). Perhaps more importantly for business users,3G/HSDPA also enables reasonably fast web browsing, email and file exchange. Nokia has provided plenty of storage. There is 128MB of free memory and Nokia adds a 512MB microSD card for good measure. This lives in a slot on one of the short edges of the device, and is securely protected by a hinged cover. Bluetooth (2.0), Wi-Fi (802.11b/g) and infrared (up to 115Kbps) are all present. Like the Nokia E65, the Nokia E90 Communicator includes a WLAN scanning utility that can be set to look for networks and report its findings on the main screen.

For the mobile email user there is support for a range of solutions (POP3, IMAP4, SMTP) and on-board viewers for PDF and Microsoft Office documents. The device can turn email, MMS and SMS messages into the spoken word another feature increasingly available on Nokia handsets, although not one we particularly enjoy using. Nokia also includes the QuickOffice suite, which allows you to create Word documents and Excel spreadsheets.

Although the Nokia E90 Communicator is bulky and heavy, it's definitely among the best of the current crop of mobile devices if you need a keyboard. Nokia has certainly made good use of the space available to it. To assess battery life, we asked the Nokia E90 Communicator to play music continuously from a full battery, which it did for 9 hours and 40 minutes. The screens turn off rather quickly to help conserve battery power, and if you're a heavy user of the internal screen, 3G and/or Wi-Fi, then you'll get less battery life than this. Nonetheless, most users can realistically expect to get through a day away from the office without requiring a recharge.

His Most Famous Photograph - Pepper 30 by Edward Weston

Ace photographer Edward Weston was born on March 24, 1886, in Illinois, USA. In 1932, he co-founded the influential 'Group F/64,' with Ansel Adams and Willard Van Dyke. His famous works, mostly done with an 8" X 10" view camera, included a series of landscapes, nudes, and still life. His interest in still life, especially certain vegetable, as evident in his "Pepper #30," was rooted into the initial years of his career, which started more as a hobby. After being gifted a Kodak camera in the year 1902, Weston began photography in the public parks of Chicago and at his aunt's farm.

Edward had an uncanny ability to bring out sensuality even in the vegetated life. His frames covering the ordinary peppers (vegetable) formed a complete body of work, with over 60 different photographs. The picture that earned him highest acclaims belonged to this series, titled "Pepper #30," which was taken in the year 1930. It is a black and white shot, closely focusing on a curved pepper. Weston was highly fascinated by the shapes and curves of this vegetable, which, according to him, carries an analogy to the human body. A careful and well-prepared shot of these peppers also gave an impression of magnificent abstract sculptures. One glance on "Pepper #30" makes it look like a picture of a well-carved figure, with an underlying voluptuousness. Only a closer examination reveals the object as an ordinary vegetable. Weston was a master of the use of light in all his works, especially the still life. The mesmerizing power of "Pepper #30" is greatly attributed to the effect of light. The source of light is placed transverse above, such that it illuminates the frontal portion of the vegetable. The frame can be divided into two portions - the upper one with pitch-dark background and the lower one, which is partially lit. The brightly shining upper half of the pepper remarkably stands out against the black background, whereas the lower half is demarcated only by its own shadow.

Edward Weston took a great care in capturing the frame from an angle that portrays the pepper in three dimensions, rather than as a flat image. Deciding upon the darkness of the original print is also challenging for images that thrive upon the interplay of lighting. Weston's rich experience is demonstrated from "Pepper #30," the 23.97 cm X 19.05 cm print of optimum strength that underscores the sensuality and the mellowness of the picture. The prodigious appreciation of an isolated piece of an otherwise common object is what makes Edward's this work, an epitome of artistry!

The Best Waterproof Digital Camera Anywhere

Are you looking to get some great underwater shark pictures in your quest to be National Geographics next big photographer? Or maybe you just want a camera that you don't have to worry about around the boat, beach or pool. While you can get an additional add-on waterproof case for some existing camera, they can be expensive, bulky and awkward to both pack and use. Why not get a camera that's already waterproof without needing to spend extra money on accessories.

There are several models out there, but my favorite choice would have to be the Olympus Stylus 790SW waterproof, shock proof, dust proof, and freeze proof. The 790SW is the successor the the 770SW, which is still available, but a little harder to find. The biggest difference between the two cameras, is that the older 770SW can go be used in up to 33 feet of water, whereas the newer 790SW can only be used in up to 10 feet of water. Olympus apparently decided that the demographic for the 790SW weren't big deep sea divers. Probably makes sense.

The other nice thing about the 790SW, is it's all around durability. This has got to be one of the toughest cameras out there. Dropping it from 5 feet or less has no affect on the sensitive internal workings. Why more cameras aren't built this way I have no idea. Not only can you take you take pictures under the water, you can take it out in the snow with no worries as well. Temperatures as low as 14 degrees Fahrenheit, or -10 degrees Celsius won't damage the camera. I'm more of a warm weather fan myself.

Friends of ours recently used their 790SW at one of those indoor water slide parks. They shot a video while hurtling through one of those big blue tubes from beginning to final submersion at the bottom. It's a pretty trippy clip as the light streams through the semi-translucent tube and the riders pitch to and fro. Definitely a fun camera. Some slight sacrifice in image quality are completely outweighed by the fun factor under these circumstances.

While there are some other quirky / novelty waterproof cameras, (GoPro Digital HERO 3 Sports Wrist Camera and the Jazz Waterproof 3 In 1), none match the Olympus 790SW in terms of quality and durability. It still takes pretty darn good pictures and videos even in non waterproof environments. But, if you do feel a need to swim with the sharks, or follow in the footsteps of Indiana Jones, the 790SW is the sidekick for you.

Gun Magazine Articles: Industry Advertisements?

I have been reading gun magazines off and on for 20 years and have come to the conclusion that gun articles are just thinly veiled advertisements for the industry. At one point, I subscribed to seven monthly gun magazines at the same time for 6 years. It was during this six year period, I began to notice some interesting problems in the gun articles I read and I would like to get on my soap box and get them off my chest.

I subscribed to and read gun magazines because I am very interested in handguns and rifles and have owned and traded many over a twenty year period. I subscribed to and read the gun magazines to gain knowledge, and look to experts with more experience then me for advice or recommendations. Now the writers’ in the gun magazines and the gun magazines themselves try to give the impression that they do product evaluations of guns and other related accessories. Some even say they are writing the article specifically to test the gun or ammunition for the readers benefit.

Now back in college, when you said you were going to do a test and evaluation, that required certain protocols to ensure that the results were not spurious, but were valid and repeatable. Now, the only way to give results with any validity is proper “research design”. Unless the testing process provides barriers against any unknown variables, tester bias and maintains consistent methods, the entire procedure and results are useless. Good research design is not that hard and can be done with just a little planning. Unfortunately the gun writers often stumble on the first step.

For example, gun writers often begin a test and evaluation article by saying that a particular gun was mailed to them for testing by the manufacturer so they grabbed what ever ammunition was available or called an ammunition manufacturer for some more free ammunition. If you think about this for a minute you will realize immediately that there is already inconsistency in the ammunition tested, and a potential conflict of interest in the results. Ammunition is a key factor in how in how a gun performs.

A 230 grain .45 caliber cartridge from Winchester is not the same as a 230 grain .45 caliber cartridge from Golden Saber. A given cartridge consists of several parts such as the bullet, powder, brass case and primer. A change in any one component can drastically affect the accuracy and performance of the bullet. Additionally, if the gun writer calls up an ammunition company and requests free ammunition, there is a conflict of interest here. Can I trust the gun writer to give me an honest evaluation of the cartridges performance? If he gives a bad review, does the company stop sending him free ammunition? Would you give free stuff to some one who gave you a bad review a year ago?

Moreover, if you test Gun A with a 5 different brands of bullets of various weights and types and then compare it to a test of Gun B with different brands of ammunition of different weights and types, is the comparison valid? I often find it amusing that they give an impression of trying to be serious and precise when the basis research design testing procedure is so flawed, the results are not valid.

The gun articles also tend to just be predominately puff pieces instead of concise and complete reviews of the product. I frequently try and guess in what paragraph the writer will actually begin to directly talk about the product or what the thesis of the article is. In a small minority of writers, I may find the actual beginning of the article in the second or third paragraph, but for the majority of gun writers I find the actual article starts in the 10th or more paragraph. The first ten paragraphs were personal opinion on life, the shooting publics’ perceptions of hand guns or some Walter Mitty dream of being in a dangerous spot where you can count on the product that is the subject of the article.

Next time you read a gun article read it from the point of view of a good editor. Does the writer tell me what the object of the article is in the first paragraph, and formulate a position or opinion? How much actual relevant information directly related to the product is in the article versus fluff and filler about other topics. If you hi-light in yellow the facts and key points of the article you will be surprised how much filler there is and how much text you could delete and make the article shorter and better.

I have even read some articles where the author even states that they just received the gun and were excited to test the gun immediately. So they grabbed what ever ammunition was available and went to the range. Some even say they didn’t have a certain brand or the type they preferred at home so they could not test the gun with that ammunition.

At this point you have to laugh. When I read statements like this I find myself saying to the article “ Then go buy some!” or “Delay the test until the desired ammunition can be obtained”. Duh!

Then when the writers gets to the range they all test fire the guns differently. Even writers for the same magazine do not have similar testing protocols. They test at different temperatures, benches, and gun rests. Some will test with Ransom Rests and some do not. The best laughs I get are from the writers who refer to themselves as old geezers with bad eye sight. After acknowledging their bad eyesight, they then proceed to shoot the gun for accuracy and give an opinion on how well the gun shot!

Now, I do not know about you, but if I was a gun manufacturer, I would not want my new gun to be evaluated by some self described person with bad eye sight. Moreover the magazines themselves should try to establish some testing protocols and younger shooters to do the testing.

Now after the shooting at the range, the writer says the gun shoots well and then describes his six shots into a 4 inch circle at 24 yards or some similar grouping. Ok, I am thinking, what does this 4 inch group represent, given the inconsistency in testing procedures? Is this 4 inch group a result of the good or bad ammunition, the guns inherent accuracy/inaccuracy or the shooters bad eyesight or all three? If all three factors are involved, what does the 4 inch group really represent?

Lastly, after reading hundreds of articles, I can’t ever recall reading an article where the writer said the gun was a bad design, the finish was bad, and that they would not recommend it. Even on guns that are on the low end of a product line or are from manufactures that make junk guns, no negative reviews, if deserved, are ever given. Especially if the accuracy resembles more of a shot gun pattern, the writer often says “the gun displayed good combat accuracy”. Since most shootings occur at about 3 to 8 feet, this means the gun will hit your 30 inch wide attacker at 5 feet away. (I hope so!) They will not say the gun is a piece of junk that could not hit an 8 inch target at 15 yards if your life depended on it.

Why? Because gun writers and the magazines do not buy the guns they test, they get free test models. Only “Gun Tests” magazine buys their own guns. So the writers have to say only good things about the gun and down play negatives, or the manufacturer “Black Balls” them from future guns. The disservice is you, the consumer. You get faulty reviews.

How do you trust what ever the writer is saying? For me, I do not. In fact, I pretty much let all my subscriptions run out years ago, except for American Rifleman.

Now, I read mostly read articles on historic guns. Not articles trying to SELL me on a gun, sight, laser, or certain bullet.

Repetition to Death is also another gripe of mine. Over the years, not that many truly new gun models have come out. Mostly manufacturs’ will issue an existing gun with a new color, night sights, finish or some other minor feature. The trouble is the gun magazines and writers treat the new gun color as if it’s the best thing since sliced bread and write a four page article. These articles are usually the articles that contain information that is 95% rehash of information already said for years about the particular gun. Usually in these four page articles only two paragraphs is actually new information or interesting.

The gun magazines also tend to repeat articles about the same gun in the same year and year after year. The 1911 is a great example. Start keeping track of the number of times the 1911 model is the subject of articles in gun magazines each and every month. Now the 1911 came out in 1911, and has been written about ever since. Is there really anything out there not known about the 1911? If a new feature on the 1911 is created, does it WARRANT a four page article on a “feature” that could easily be adequately described in a few paragraphs?

If you want to read gun magazines go ahead, just read them with a critical eye. When I read. I read for content. I try and get the following from an article:

1. What is the writers’ reason for writing?

2. What is the writer actually saying?

3. What new information was conveyed?

4. Are the results of any testing process described valid?

5. Did the writer provide any background qualifications or experience?

6. What do I take away from the article?

Handguns are expensive, and unfortunately the magazines are not much help in providing an honest comparison for the beginner. They only say positive things about all guns, the industry and never criticize a brand and or model. “They are all good guns, some are just better then others”? Yeah right.

My recommendation to the beginner. Talk to someone who has been shooting for awhile and has owned and shot a variety of different guns, and has no vested interest recommending one model or brand.

These are only my opinions, but after years of reading the gun articles, I have come to the conclusion that the writers really do not know how to do consistent testing, and the editors have very low standards for accepting articles. I am not perfect either and love shooting, but I would not say every gun is a quality gun or deserves to be bought.

Home Run Baseball Photography Tips

Strike one! Strike two! Strike three!

Baseball! America's Pastime, and a sport growing in popularity throughout the world, where the Boys of Summer slug it out. A baseball game is the perfect way to spend a lazy summer afternoon, plus it provides opportunities to take photos that last a lifetime.

While many claim the sport of baseball is a slow-paced affair, when action does occur, it can happen very swiftly, almost too fast for an unskilled photographer to shoot the photos they desire. Baseballs fly quickly when hit or thrown, and timing the action for when to take a digital photograph requires split-second reflexes. Thus, before you plan on taking photos at a baseball game, you may wish to read the following advice:

1) First, make sure you are allowed to bring your digital camera to the baseball game. Some ballparks have no restrictions, others on the zoom length, some on using flash, and some may not allow you into the baseball game at all with your camera!

2) Change your camera settings to take the quickest photographs possible while still providing plenty of light for the photograph. You'll need to read your camera's manual on how to change these settings; for example, consider saving photos as JPG instead of RAW to take photos faster.

Just remember that the quicker the shutter speed, the less light enters the camera to take the picture. Thus, you'll need to compromise picture speed and the amount of light to take great photos. That is why baseball games work well with photography - many games are played on sunny days or in well-lit domes or stadiums that allow you to take crisp, high-action photos.

3) Before going to a big league ballpark, make sure you know the rules and nuances of the game. Practice taking photos at a minor-league, college, or high school baseball game. The stakes aren't quite as high if you miss a shot, and taking your camera to a game will give you more insight into when action occurs and when players just stand around.

4) Have extra batteries and digital camera memory handy and practice switching both out quickly before the game! A three and a half hour game can put a tremendous strain on even the most power-miserly camera, and more often than not you will have to switch out power or memory in the middle of an inning.

5) Don't worry if you miss a shot! Unless you have tons of digital camera memory, you may not be able to continuously shoot photograph after photograph. If you miss a key pitch, the swing of a bat, or a forced out, don't get angry! More often than not, new opportunities will arise for great photographs.

6) Study the lineup first. Know who are the key players and those who barely know how to swing a bat. Likewise, learn who has loose hands in the outfield and who is likely to win a Gold Glove. Focus your attention on the stars as they most likely will make the best photographs, but don't be so drawn to celebrity that you miss a role player making a crucial steal or diving catch that wins the game for their team!

7) When the opening lineup starts, look at the dugout. If you're rooting for the home team, the beginning of the game is a great time to get player photographs as they are running out onto the field. If not, take photographs during the middle of the inning. If you don't get the perfect photo, delete bad photographs during lull times and try later during the game.

8) To take a picture of a swinging batter that will last a lifetime, do the following:

*) Preparation is the key. First, before the game, know how to operate your digital camera. Practice focusing the camera and quickly deleting unused photos - sometimes you can delete an unwanted photo before it is completely saved to the camera's memory.

*) Before the pitch, focus your viewfinder on the batter's box and try not to cut out any of the batter's body. Zoom in as appropriate, but remember the more you zoom in, the slower the potential shutter speed needed to take a clear photo.

*) Anticipate shutter lag. Lock your focus before the pitch; this usually is done by pressing the shutter button down half-way.

*) Time it... time it... then as soon as the ball is about to hit the bat, press down fully on the shutter button.

*) If the pitch is a strike or the swing is not one to be remembered, cancel the save so your picture is not written to memory. This way, you can save room for other photos.

9) Look around for photo opportunities not directly related to the action. Take a photograph of the grounds crew cleaning the bases and raking the dirt between innings. Get a few shots of the crowd. Take a picture of the scoreboard. Look at the surrounding area. If you want to remember the full experience of a baseball game years from now, you should take advantage of one of the best features of a digital camera - the ability to take lots and lots of photographs - and shoot photographs showcasing the FULL baseball experience.

10) Take a break during the game! You came to the baseball game to enjoy the spectacle, not just to take pictures, right? Designate a few innings as photo-free time where you just sit back, munch on a hot dog, drink a soda, and soak in the environment.

Remember to study your digital camera manual first and practice, practice, practice! Follow these ten tips and you'll be on your way to taking "home run" baseball photographs in no time.

Digital Photography - How To Get Off On The Right Foot

If you are considering if you want a camera, you should set yourself a price agreement before going online or visiting an electronics shop. Purchasing a digital camera is just like getting any other large item like a house. There are thousands of options and often you can get puzzled. Before you go buying a gigantic high-end SLR camera, think about the smaller, yet more effective camera. High-end cameras offer the best zoom, the most added features and more megapixels. When you have more megapixels it doesn't mean you will have the best picture condition. As a beginner in the camera world it would be wise to not spend a huge about of money on a high on camera. It is better to look for less expensive, yet powerful, compact digital cameras that are a lot easier to hold and pack around. It is most recommended learn the basics with this digital camera and make sure you enjoy the hobby before spending extra money.

Are you having trouble catching aerial photos? Guess what you don't have to use planes or helicopters! Sometimes aerial shots on planes can sometimes get expensive unless you have a friend with a plane. Another problem would be the fear of heights rather than how expensive planes and helicopters are. Want a great secret? Most "aerial" photos are not actually taken from a plane. It is rather from a countryside vantage point. If you're on a mountain overlooking a vista, on top of a lighthouse, or in the observation deck of a tall skyscraper, and you shoot down, you're quite high up as it is. Your digital photos will look like they came from a helicopter or plane even though you're not in any flying vehicle at all!

Autumn is an exciting time for travel and nature photographers, as it brings beautiful orange, brown, and red leaf colors. Sometimes people enjoy traveling during this time to be able to get the best photographs of the colors. Research is quite easy; the US has provided websites that are as up to date as the seasons are. If you want to get some fantastic pictures then you need to plan your trip well. In order to do that you must select a location you want to go to. The Appalachians and the Rockies are good places to go for great pictures. If you dont want to travel as far as the US then you should check your own countries agriculture database.

A good location can make all the difference when taking fireworks photos with your digital camera. When capturing fireworks on film, composition is critical. Before the fireworks show begins, find a good vantage point that provides you with a clear shot of the upcoming show. Try to avoid streetlights that may compete with the brightness of the fireworks. Also important is to find a spot that will minimize the chances of people walking in front of your digital camera. Do not trespass on private property and be safe where you go at night, but look around for an area that can give you a clear shot of the brilliance that will light up your camera.

Shooting photos at dusk may provide your digital camera with just enough light to take great cityscape photos. If you are looking for a great nighttime cityscape picture, consider taking your photos at dusk instead of in the pitch black of night. The sky is dark at dusk, but not so dark to prevent some degree of sunlight entering your digital camera, making it easier to take hand-held photos that do not result all blurry due to 'camera-shake'. Dusk only lasts for a little while, so research your shot locations beforehand. Plus, check the local newspaper or visit a weather website for the sunset time, and be prepared to shoot photos around that timeframe.

Don't waste time refocusing between shots during a parade. In order to shoot as many photos as possible during a parade, consider getting a focus lock (keep your shutter button held halfway down and don't completely release it after taking a photo), or setting your camera up for manual focus. Then, you can take several photos in succession, or use your camera's "drive" mode for multiple shots within a small range of time. Without having to refocus for each shot, your digital camera should function much quicker. Though you may want to set up and refocus for certain special shots, other times you may have just as much fun continuously shooting as the action in a parade can happen very fast.

What You Need To Know About Noise Canceling Headphones

One thing for certain the louder noises you hears the better chance that you could lose a little bit of your hearing. Most people who listen to walkmans or MP3 players will usually try to drum out the noise bugging them by turning the volume level to the highest setting possible. All this is doing is damaging your hearing and the outside noise is still there. One alternative is noise canceling headphones. There are two types that you will want to know about and that is passive and active. Passive way to cancel noise is to wear headphones around ears or inside the ear with an ear bud type. These are good but are limited in the noise they can filter out. Active is much different and will you cost more as it detects noise by a microphone before it can reach your ears and in the simplest terms block the majority of it thus the noise canceling effect. Now certain limitations make it virtually impossible to block out all the noise but a significant amount can be blocked away from your ears so you can enjoy your music.

Now we will look at some of the better noise canceling headphones out on the market that you may want to consider giving a try. The Bose Quiet Comfort 2 is an over the ear headphone that will deliver great crisp sound and very comfortable to wear. It gives you great noise cancellation ability, but it's pricey, but if you have the money this is a great pair to consider. If you're looking for a more portable pair than the Sennheiser PX-250 would be a great choice for you. It folds into a compact package for easy travel and also has great noise canceling abilities. If you're in your home listening to music than blocking as much noise as possible is something you may want to try. Different applications call for different types of noise canceling headphones. If you follow these suggestions, you should have no trouble find a great pair to block out the noise.

Never Buy A Canon PowerShot SD850 Digital Elph Camera

Never may be too harsh a word, but you'll want to learn of a few problems with the Canon PowerShot SD850 Digital Elph Camera before you actually buy one. It has some flaws you may not be aware of. Most digital camera reviews you read online are nothing but thinly veiled attempts to sell you the camera. There's no sales pitch here, just an attempt to bring to light problems with the Powershot SD850 Digital Elph.

Barrel distortion can be common with several cameras in this category and price range, but generally not to the extent that it is in the SD850. Barrel distortion in photography generally refers to an image whose quality is good at the center, but gets distorted the further you go from center. Barrel distortion is sometimes referred to as edge or corner softness.

Canon decided that giving you information you can't do much about, might be a good idea. Not really sure why. When the shutter button is half way pressed, the PowerShot SD850 displays the F/Stop setting the Digital Elph will be using for the picture your about to take. Which is nice, but it would be even nicer if you could adjust it. The way it's designed right now, you can't.

Ergonomics are important in digital cameras, especially because of their size. Being so small, digital cameras can be cumbersome even at the best of times. Especially for those with larger hands. The PowerShot SD850 seems to have missed the mark with a couple of points in this category. Firstly, the power button is positioned in such a way that getting greasy finger prints on the LCD is next to impossible. Secondly, due to a curved base, the SD850 DigitalElph can be tricky to set on a flat surface for the purpose of using the timer.

That's just a few points you should keep in mind if your considering a Canon PowerShot SD850 Digital Elph Camera. Lucky for you, there are plenty of other good digital cameras to consider. Good deals on digital cameras are plentiful these days, if you just know where to look.
